I’m going to be putting up a weekly photo from now on. If I keep track (and I will) I shouldn’t be repeating myself for a very long time. This one is of June Gladney at a masquerade with a painted dragon tattoo on her bare left side where she had her mastectomy.

Minor point, but: the photo’s right side, with the dragon, is Gladney’s left.

It is indeed her left side. My brain must have been in Kansas. I’m fixing it now.

It was a powerful moment. She was coming out of the masquerade presentation and being photographed by lots of people. I wanted to capture the sense of her poise and presence and (always) making it good art.
