Cynthia McQuillin, a model for and key supporter of Women En Large, died this weekend. A gifted singer and songwriter, she wrote a song called “Shifting Focus,” the lyrics for which are next to one of her photographs in Women En Large. She went on to do a whole album of body image and size acceptance songs called “This Heavy Heart” (with her singing partner, Dr. Jane Robinson, another WEL model). Cynthia also wrote fantasy short fiction, made jewelry, and was a remarkable cook.

She will be missed.
