International Women’s Day: Photographer Tee Corinne (NSFW)

Laurie says:

I usually put up a blog about my friend photographer Tee Corinne near the anniversary of her death. (She died in August of 2006.) This year International Women’s Day seems liked the right time.

..

She was a lesbian artist, writer, activist, and historian with a passionate artistic nature and a very sharp mind. We first met in Florida when we were in our 20s and resumed our long friendship in our 40s.

I still miss her every day.

I thought I’d put up this beautiful image from her book Yantras of Womanlove, published in 1982. To create these beautiful complex images she used the technique of arranging multiple prints using solarisation, flipped negatives, and images printed in negative and multiple exposures.

And these solarized dancers:

And this “landscape” – obviously multiple negatives:

I’m glad I put this up today but it’s definitely making me sad.
